Introduce your little one to art! 

Get ready to bond with your child over some creative fun in the Mama & Me Art Workshops. In these workshops you and your child will explore a variety of different art materials, be immersed in new sensory experiences, improve fine motor skills and have fun being creative while making new friends. As a bonus, these fun workshops are conducted in English, so it is the perfect way to pick up new English words and phrases whilst sharing a fun and memorable experience.

What is the basis of Mama & Me Art?

When engaged in a creative process, young children usually don’t realize that they are actually learning. There are however, many fun and simple arts activities that can help a child to foster a huge number of developmentally appropriate skills. 

 The Start Art Mama & Me curriculum explores creative production using a hands-on sensory approach and focuses on process art - art that has a direct focus on the process of making rather than the final outcome. When involved in artistic creation, the majority of the learning happens in the lead up to the finished piece. Therefore, by giving the children simple guidelines and queues, then allowing them to explore and create around those suggested ideas, the child is given the chance to achieve optimum learning from the art activity. They are, as a result, allowed the chance to discover how things work for themselves and to explore the properties of different materials. 

 Young children benefit from art the most when using a wide range of materials and tools. They have an innate curiosity and love to experiment with different colours, textures and implements. The curriculum we provide offers young learners the chance to work with a wide range of materials. The materials we use in our Mama & Me Art Workshops are non-toxic and child-safe, enabling the young learners to be free to fully explore the art process without any worry of injury.
